UNDERGRADUATE PREPARATION FOR DEGREE PROGRAMS IN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Pre-requisite courses required to become an occupational therapist may be completed at OSU.  To become a registered occupational therapist, students must be accepted and transfer to an accredited occupational therapy program.

The advisement worksheet was prepared for OSU students planning to complete their Occupational Therapy education at The University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health and receive the masters degree in Occupational Therapy. Students planning to apply to an occupational therapy program other than The University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health will need to check the specific admission requirements of those schools by consulting the pre-occupational therapy advisor at the school of interest.

GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION (GRE) SCORES:  All applicants must take the general Graduate Record Exam, which is given every business day. Students should take the test preferably in April, but no later that October, preceding the application deadline.  For information about the GRE test and for registration forms, students should contact Oklahoma State University Assessment and Testing, 107 UAT Building. ELECTIVES:  Make up the balance of hours needed to equal 90 hours.

SHADOWING:  Students must observe a minimum of 40 documented hours in a variety of Occupational Therapy settings prior to application.

GRADEPOINT REQUIREMENT:  Students must have at least a 2.75 GPA in all college work attempted and have earned a "C" or better in required courses.
